Ever wash half of a rental car? After parking in front of a small store all night that was, unbeknownst to us, washing their front windows, some of the soap and water from their spray gun had blown in the 45 mph winds onto our front windshield. We had no idea until we had loaded up the car to take it back to the airport and noticed the windshield looked a bit hazy. So Jon sprayed the windows as we drove and they immediately bubbled up and over covering the entire windshield. Using the wipers only increased the amount of bubbles. It was like driving inside a bubble bath. I suddenly pictured us getting into an accident, trying to explain to iclandic police that our view had been obstructed by an excessive amount of bubbles. On the side of the road, after using napkins and an old receipt we found, we scraped off enough of the soap that we could see just enough to continue driving. To make the situation more confusing, it was a wet and muddy weekend so the back of the car was sprayed with mud, while the front bumper, doors and corners of the windshield were still covered in a soapy film.

The attendant at the rental car company looked at us and then looked back at the car and then looked at us again.

“Did you wash the car?”

We laughed and shook our head, “Who washes a rental?”
